"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." Philippians 4:6

The week of prayer is an intentional week for Hopeful Baptist Church to pray for specific needs in our church, our missions partnerships, and for the events surrounding Easter at Hopeful Baptist Church.

Jesus gave the church two ordinances, baptism and the Lord’s Supper. Baptism signifies new life in Christ Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is taken to remember what Christ has done for believers through His sacrifice on the cross.

“This is my body, which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” 25 In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, and said, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” 26

"With a loud cry, Jesus breathed his last. The curtain of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. And when the centurion, who stood there in front of Jesus, saw how he died, he said, “Surely this man was the Son of God!” Mark 15: 37-39.

Good Friday is the day we remember Jesus' sacrifice and death on the Cross. Jesus had faced a conspiracy from the Sanhedrin and an unfair trial at the hands of the Romans, resulting in His public execution on the Cross. The people of Israel, who just days earlier shouted Hosanna, now were shouting, "Crucify Him." Join us on April 18th at 6:30 pm  as we walk through the crucifixion of Christ, hearing from Phillip Herrington in addition to Billy Young as we give thanks to God for His plan of salvation.
